Arnold's final home game of the season saw them take on league leaders Staveley MW. The pitch looked in remarkable condition despite the recent awful weather.
Started the game in the company of Trev Williams and Brian Dennett - we were joined just before the break by Tony Squires and Lee Spurr...the Heanor Town duo had been to watch the 6:15 kick off at Digby Street where Linby CW beat Kimberley MW 3-0.
Staveley scored after just 70 seconds - their no. 9, ADAM HOUGHTON heading powerfully home at the far post. JOE BROTHWELL levelled for Arnold on 10, his effort looked to have been hacked off the line but Refs Assistant Mr. Shead ruled that the ball had indeed crossed the line before the clearance was made. H-T 1-1
Staveley regained the lead on 53, another far post header - and I am reliably informed it was HOUGHTON again with the strike. The visitors' third goal came in the 78th minute after Arnold's keeper was left exposed and SAM FINLAW slid in to force the ball home. F-T 1-3
