Looking at the constitution,  Clipstone appear to have been the unlucky team as far as the North/South divide goes – all that travelling will be a real strain on their finances!

From a personal point of view, I’m looking forward to seeing some of the South Division games…..going to be some right hammerings !!! I’m just thankful that we aren’t supporting a charity this coming season – it looks like it may have cost us a small fortune!!!!

Bits and bobs of local interest...

Gresley FC confirmed as a member of the MFA for season 2011-12

Micky Moore (who?) appointed as Assistant to Paul Cox at Mansfield

One of “On The Road’s” favourite players, Chris Shaw has signed for Hednesford Town

Sutton Town AFC confirm Nathan Hollingworth and Jack Townroe will be at the Fieldings next season.

Gedling Town have folded – leaving the EMCL with just 19 teams.  Surely the F.A. will tell the CMFL to let Pinxton take their place.

There will be no Presidents Cup in the Evo-Stik this coming season.

Rainworth MW are to entertain a Notts County XI on 30th July.

Arnold Town visit Eastwood Town at Coronation Park on 31st July.

Pinxton v Heanor according to Pinxton web site is to be played on Friday 22nd July at 7:45pm.  Pinxton v Heanor according to Heanor website is to be played on Saturday 23rd at 3:00pm.   FRIDAY 22ND IS CONFIRMED

Hucknall Town playing squad 2011-2012

Local interest only, really.  Just wonder if Tommy can keep this squad intact for the whole season

Hucknall Town manager Tommy Brookbanks has outlined his squad for the coming season. Town have agreed a deal with their creditors, and now Brookbanks can now concentrate on team affairs.

What is surprising is the list of players mentioned on the HTFC website.  Great negotiating from the manager as no less than 22 players appear to have been either retained or brought in – on a well published playing budget of only £500 per week!

The only problem may be how to keep some of these players happy if they aren’t getting first team football.  AFC Hucknall did provide football for “squad” players last season, but even though AFC are now classed as a step 7 team due to restructuring of the CMFL, having to play at this level saw a lot of the “squad” players decide to leave Watnall Road last season.

Player list :-

Wayne Duik
James Lindley (GK)
Jack Harvey (GK)
Martin Ball
Dave Boafo
James Jepson
Callum Lloyd
Dean Gent
Joe Pheasant
Jared Holmes
Joel Goodacre
Theo Ganderson
Anthony Griffiths-Junior
Mattieu Isamene
Grant Ryan (ex- Mansfield Town Academy)
Ryan Whitehurst (ex-Forest Academy 2008-09)
Max Wright (ex-Forest Academy 2008-09)
Danny Elliott (ex-Forest Academy 2008-09)
Romaine Graham (Greenwood Meadows)
Kieron Walker (Greenwood Meadows)
Nathan Watson (Kirkby Town)
Phil Massingham (Radcliffe Olympic)

Other non-league news of local interest

I’ve lost track of player movements – there have been that many. These are just a few of the latest Evo-Stik Div 1 South news items :-

Gary Ricketts first major signing for Kevin Wilson at Evo-Stik new boys Ilkeston FC

Deon Meikle, Tommy Hannigan and Mark Camm all sign deals with Belper Town

Nick Hall commits to Carlton Town – as do Rob Darkin, Josh Thornton, Danny Marshall and Terry Hawkridge

James Lindley returns to keep goal for Hucknall after Ross Whalin’s move to Eastwood Town

Closed season Management merry-go-round

The Football league sees a lot of management changes during the closed season, but the non-league game has it’s fair share as well.

This is not meant to be a definitive list, just local "happenings" that I know of from various websites… I’m sure there are others I have missed !!

In no particular order:

Paul Cox to Mansfield Town
Jamie Brough / Craig Armstrong in at Eastwood Town
Simon Snow joins Radford FC
Dean Short takes on the parlous job of leading Sutton Town AFC out of the doldrums
Gary Hayward takes over from Paul McFarland at Blackwell, Paul takes up the position of General Manager
Gary Castledine to Clipstone
Brett Marshall goes back to Retford Utd
Jody Cauldwell becomes part of Brett’s backroom staff
Graham Walker signs as Brett’s Assistant
Gedling MW recruit Lee Boulton to replace Walker
Dave Bradshaw and Dave Marlow take the reigns at Linby CW
Glapwell have Keith Easom and Graham Charlesworth in charge
John Ramshaw goes to Shepshed Dynamo, and recruits Chris “Chalkie” White as his assistant along with Nick Kennerdale as coach.
Kaz Fawli in control at Greenwood Meadows
Paul Rawden -- New manager of Ollerton Town FC together with back room staff of Liam Best and Matt Ottley
Lee Scott takes the helm at Harworth CI
Kuki Morley to assist Lee Boulton at Gedling MW
Tony Lormor appointed as coach at Sutton Town AFC
John Adams in at Radcliffe Olympic

Should be settling down a bit now as pre-season training has already started for some teams, while friendlies commence very early in July.
